I’ve never seen so many people in line for a movie. The theatre I went to had at least 6 showings and the line circled around the block. This movie is going to be a hit whether word of mouth will be good or bad. But then again everyone predicted it to be the summer box office champ. I just didn’t expect so many people to show up for a midnight showing.
I thought the movie had great moments while some parts were absurd. It could have been 15 minutes shorter and made for a better movie. Most of the action scenes were cartoony and the decisions the characters made just didn’t make sense. I also didn’t like the fact that Batman had to rely on gadgets to get the job done. Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker was great. Different from Jack Nicholson’s version, very menacing(both are entertaining on their own right).
I must say I enjoyed Batman Begins way more than the Dark Knight. Batman Begins had slick editing and the movie was just epic. Even though the message was good,Dark Knight’s ending was anti climactic. I’ll have to watch it again to see if I feel the same way but for now, this isn’t the “end all, be all” comic book movie that it’s hyped up to be. That would go to Batman Begins.
