Bandai recently released a full line of Kamen Rider figures which are currently available in stores. The figures are based on the CW4Kids show Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight, currently airing on Saturday mornings. I have seen the figures at Toys R Us and at toysrus.com.
Bandai was kind enough to send me 3 figures as a part of their line to review.
Kamen Rider 4 inch figures (retail price 7.99): I received Camo from this selection of figures and its my favorite pick for kids. The articulation is very good and all the joints move for poseable action. They come with weapons and collectible advent cards. Kids will love these and want to collect all 6 that are available so far. They remind me of old school figures, like the GI Joe figures of the 80s. They are reasonably priced as well.
Kamen Rider Deluxe Figure Set (retail price 12.99): These are the human figures and they come with their dragons and an advent card. They are also around 4 inches, not as poseable but they come with their advent dragon or creature. I receieved Kitt from Bandai and there are a few other figures available now. The major problem with this set of figures is they don’t look much like the actors from the tv series and their legs don’t move, so kids may be disappointed with them.
Kamen Rider 6.5 inch action figure (retail price 14.99): Bandai sent me the 6.5 inch Dragon Knight figure, and for collectors, this is one of the nicest. It comes with an advent card and the helmet flips up and down. It’s cool for kids and older collectors will want to keep them packaged and displayed on their shelves. There are two figures currently available. Dragon and Wing Knight.
Dragon Knight Deluxe Action Figure with cycle (retail price 16.99): These are the smaller figures on cycles and there is a button on the cycle to make them light up. I did not get one to review but 3 are currently available in stores now.
Packaging is solid along with articulation (especially the 4 inch figures). Sculpts are generally good as well.
I’m a huge fan of the television series and Bandai has done an excellent job with the figures. The human figures that come with their advent creature could have had more detail and articulation, but the others are nice. You can help support the series buy buying some of the figures.
These toys from the fine folks at Bandai are attractive, generally well-priced, and highly recommended.

You fluffed some of them and used stock pictures, what the hell! Buddy. 🙂
The small action figures with them in costume are the best though, you should post your collection so far.

What’s your opinion on the show?
I caught an ep on TV one time and saw the guy wearing 3 polos.
Because it’s on a kids network, how would you compare the show to the original? (Kamen Rider Ryuki)
