Finally got my 5th Xbox yesterday from MS after returning the previous 3 for Red Ring of Death and a disk error message(first one was returned back to Best Buy). Took about four and a half weeks to send me a replacement. So is this one as good as new? I wouldn’t say so because the fan is very loud. But it is more sturdy than the previous two they sent me. I can’t hear any of the parts moving and the power button isn’t stuck and doesn’t feel flimsy.
Overall, I’m satisfied with this 360. Manufacturer’s date is 9/02/07, same as the previous one which gave me the RROD. Having said that, MS customer service is lousy. They were suppose to send me two, one month Xbox Live subscription card with the system because they didn’t send one when I got the third system back. I told them about it when I sent the third one back (unreadable disk error). Got the fourth one and still didn’t get it. Got this one and still didn’t get it.
A “special” customer support agent was supposedly overlooking the progress of the repair and made sure everything went smoothly. He even made a note that they will send me two Xbox Live subscription cards. Yet, when I asked him the status of the repair, he would give me generic responses and not really answer my question.
Now I have to contact him again and let him know about subscription card. But hey, at least I can catch up on Halo 3 and arrived just in time for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
