This is a great time to be a 360 owner. With games like Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, and Assassin’s Creed out (Yeah I know, two of the games are also on PS3), I’m like going to go broke. Gotta get my hands on Call of Duty 4 after I’m done playing AC and ME. I’ve beaten both games, but am still playing again to finish some missions and to see different ways of playing the game.
I’ve had fun with Assassin’s Creed and Mass Effect. Both games have flaws, but the pros outweighs them.
For Assassin’s Creed, it’s like combining elements from action platforming games like Prince of Persia, Shadow of the Colossus, and Tomb Raider to stealth games like Metal Gear and Splinter Cell. What you get is a huge “sandbox” to play around in. Jerusalem, Damascus, and Acre is your playground. Nothing’s the limit. You can climb almost anything and jump and roll around like Tarzan without the jungle.
It’s fun to hunt your target, then kill him. Whether it’s killing them in the public, or killing them in private, you have different ways to approach things. Do a wrong move and the whole city might chase after you as you try to escape them from city rooftop to rooftip. Or you can stand your ground and attack them. The counter system is very responsive. If you enjoyed the counter in Prince of Persia, odds are you’ll enjoy this one more.
Overall, the graphics are breathtaking, from climbing the very top building structure overlooking all of the city to walking on the streets filled with townspeople doing their everyday duties. The sound pulls you into the city with the city life filled with chatty people, birds flying, to the clanking of swords.
Coming soon……My take on Mass Effect.
Oh, and for you Kristen Bell Fans. (Assassin’s Creed, Heroes, Veronica Mars, Pulse)
