This past weekend my girlfriend and I went down to Ocean City, NJ for three days of fun. The whole trip was a blur, it was over before it began but here’s the highlights in words and pictures:
Arrival at the shore in the pouring rain late Sat morning:
We arrive in Ocean City after 11am in the pouring rain. Check in at the Pier 4 in Somers Point isn’t till 3pm so we try to come up with things to do. We duck into a little shop and head to the boardwalk to hang out at arcades and wait in vain for the rain to slow a bit.
Pier 4 Check In:
We check into The Pier 4 Hotel in Somers Point and love the place. The rooms are clean and spacious and look amazing. We decide to hang out then go to the famous Crap Trap Restaurant, which we can walk to from the hotel.
The Crab Trap:
The Crab Trap is a famous seafood restaurant in Somers Point with excellent food but high prices and a fairly long wait. Expect to wait at least an hour or longer to get in. Your best bet is to go earlier. The king crab legs I had were excellent and it’s definitely worth the expense to go.
The Boardwalk:
After dinner we head to the Boardwalk to walk around at night. The views are amazing and there’s plenty to do and see. I buy some Shriver’s fudge and salt water taffy for a friend. I then go over to Johnson’s popcorn and buy caramel popcorn for myself, a friend, and work. Amanda gets some cool looking hermit crabs.
Sunday:
We get up and have breakfast at the hotel (no egg in an envelope, but plenty of juice, bagels, and muffins). The food was good and we head over to the beach for a while. It’s a beautiful day, but after the beach we are kind of lost about what to do next. We eat at a place in Somers Point called The Anchorage, they have really good food. We decide to go to Stone Harbor at night, where there’s plenty of shops. We go to bed later on and then get ready for our final day at the shore.
Monday:
We get a quick breakfast in the hotel lobby and then pack our stuff and check out around 11am. I’m extremely sad as I wave goodbye to the Pier 4 realizing that reality is a heartbeat away. We go to Cape May and shop and eat at a restaurant called Harbor View. The place has a deck that overlooks the marina and the views are stunning. I highly recommend stopping in there the next time you are in Cape May. Sit out on the deck at night and have a couple drinks on me, you won’t regret it. We head home after having one of the best weekends ever and plan our next trip, our next adventure together :).

You’re right- that Coach purse looks better on my arm than it does on yours!
You forgot that we went mini golfing in OC!
