The 2009 MTV Movie Awards is over and I have to say that Andy Samberg did a mighty fine job hosting it. Overall, it was pretty entertaining, but was disappointed with Twilight’s take over. That’s what I get for not voting (The new Twilight: Blue Moon trailer was actually pretty interesting). The thing that makes these MTV award shows pretty fun are the things that these actors would do to entertain the viewers. And for that, I applaud them.
Here are some cool moments that I really enjoyed:
– Kiefer Sutherland getting emotional over Ben Stiller’s many awesome performances. He mentions that the scene in Something About Mary when Ben masturbated standing up inspired Kiefer to be a better actor.
– Andy Samberg’s music video about cool guys walking away from explosions without looking at it is easily the funniest thing ever.
– Who can forget about Sacha Baron Cohen as Bruno flying above with his thong and angel wings to present an award? The wires making Bruno fly accidentally lowered him down where his ass was hovering next to Eminem’s face, who was sitting down enjoying the show. Eminem had a mean look on his face and he and his crew were tossing Bruno around and walked out of the show embarrassed, lol. He can make fun of others, yet when he’s being made fun of, he bones out like Scooby Doo and Shaggy.
– Andy calling out Megan Fox on how she doesn’t like award shows.
– Every time Zack Efron is on stage 😉
– Robert Pattinson and Kristen Steward teasing us with their almost attempted make out session.
– Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock presenting the best kiss award. Sandra tells Ryan that he should have a role where he can kiss guys. Ryan replied that he already did when he kissed Sandra. Oh snaps!
And here are some things that I thought was awkward and bad:
– Andy Samberg’s songs are funny, but when you have Leanne Rimes, Chris Isaak, and Forest Whitaker singing those songs as a melody, it seemed too try-hard and not funny.
– Megan Fox’s reaction to Andy’s comment about Megan not digging award shows.
– Hayden Panettiere trying to be a cool by cussing and rapping. I don’t buy it one bit. Something about cute girls and rapping just feels wrong.
– I love Triumph the dog and all, but something’s wrong when Kiefer Sutherland and Zack Efron made me laugh more then the cigar-smoking dog.
The scariest thing for me about this show is that I feel a slight sensation when I see Robert Pattinson and now understand why all the girls are going crazy for him. Yes, Twilight fever has taken me now.
One more thing I have to mention, Tyrese is a pimp. Did you see him at the after party working his mojo on three hot babes? Left cheek baby!
